Environmental future funding package

The NSW Government has released a new NSW Climate Change Policy Framework. The policy provides important context for the government’s approach to climate change. It sets two aspirational objectives:

  • achieving net zero emissions by 2050
  • NSW being more resilient to a changing climate.

The government has also announced a $500 million funding package and released two draft climate change and energy savings plans for public consultation:

Households saving energy

The public consultation ran from Thursday 3 November to Friday 16 December 2016.

We will be using public feedback to develop three action plans for investing up to $500 million over five years across three priority investment areas:

  • accelerating advanced energy
  • national leadership in energy efficiency
  • preparing for a changing climate.

Information briefings

The NSW Government has run three webinar briefings to provide more information about new funding opportunities under these two draft plans, the public consultation process and the new climate change policy framework.

A recording of one of the webinar briefings with closed captioning is available. Register on the website to access the recording.
