Developing a NSW Koala Strategy

From 4 December 2016 to 3 March 2017 the Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) invited input on what to include in a whole-of-government NSW koala strategy. The community's feedback on what should be included in the strategy is vital for building an effective strategy.

For more information about developing the strategy and further resources, see the OEH Developing a NSW Koala Strategy site.

At the same time, OEH also invited community feedback on the draft Saving Our Species (SOS) Iconic Koala Project, which sets out a framework for on-ground koala conservation actions for 2016-21 and forms one important part of the proposed koala strategy. For more information on the SOS project, go to Koala (Phascolarctos cinereus).

The Saving our Species Iconic Koala Project will build on the valuable contributions made by individuals and groups across the state to conserve koalas.Ongoing involvement of all stakeholders will be critical to the success of the project.
