Fire station in Scheyville National Park

What are we doing?

The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is seeking public comment on the proposal by Oakville Rural Fire Service to lease land for a fire station in Scheyville National Park.

The fire station would comprise a double-bay steel shed, an above-ground water tank, a driveway, landscaping, hardstand (fire truck parking area), drainage, car parking spaces and a vehicle turn-around area. It would be located adjacent to Scheyville Road.

The proposed 25-year lease would be provided by NPWS to the Hawkesbury City Council.

The project has received approval under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.

Why are we doing it?

A new fire station would enable tankers to be available to respond to fire incidents.

This notice also provides public advertisement of the proposed lease in accordance with Section 151F of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974.

Written submissions marked ‘Oakville Fire Station lease submissions’ are invited on the proposed grant of lease.

Submissions will be received until 4pm Friday 23 January, 2015.
